My Bridal Showers Recap NY + LA

Celebrating my Bridal Shower TWICE was a dream come true. Since I live on the west coast but am from the east coast I got to have one shower with my girlfriends in LA and another back home with my family in NY.

So let’s start with celebrating in LA with all of my best girlfriends. I was lucky enough that one of my girls lives in Malibu and hosted us all at her home which made for the dreamiest Malibu day. We had picnic areas, a long romantic farm table decked out in candles and cute glasses as well as the yummiest food to munch on.

I had a vision of what I wanted my bridal shower to look like for so long and my friends really nailed it for me! Personally, I never wanted my shower to be held at a ballroom or too fancy of a venue. I feel like that is when the day can feel stiff and quite frankly old school and boring. I think being able to have our shower at someones house or on the beach makes it so much more intimate and feel more like a get together than a formal event.

For my New York shower, my mom did an insane job of turning our backyard into a dream space with picnic tables, a charcuterie board like none i’ve ever seen before, a bridal photo area and custom Simmy Spritz’s for the party to enjoy.

Since I had been looking and trying to plan last year before my friends took over, I have so many ideas to share with you if you or your girls are starting to plan your bridal shower! Send this list over to your MOH and let her and your girls takeover the rest!

Invites : I’m usually not a fan of email invites but for a bridal shower I think it is such a good way to save money + you usually get responses back a little quicker this way and they are easy to track. Using Zola or Minted is great too ** if you order from either of these make sure to order your matching Thank You cards right away too so you can get those out in a timely fashion after your party.

Photographer: Highly recommend getting a photographer to capture this day. It’s such a memorable day with your girls and you’re going to want to remember even the smallest details! It’s so special that your friends take the time to plan a party for you!

Hair & Make up: Personal preference … get your Hair and Makeup done! These events leading up to your wedding are part of the fun of getting married. Treat yourself (and maybe your MOH too!) so that you can feel like a Princess all day long.
